I forgot to ask if you have any further info. about The Whiteside? When it was built, etc. My parents did visit the area in the ’80′s and I think they said that condos now are on that site. They ran into the former owner, Spike Kelterhouse, and walked down memory lane. Thanks!

I can’t believe I found this! Or that you found a postcard of The Whiteside. This place has an almost mythical place in my family’s history, as we stayed there for many years (some before I was born)in the 1950′s & early ’60′s. I just happened to think of all the wonderful times we had there, and Googled it for a lark (never dreaming I’d find anything)! Thank you for providing this!

Actually most of the antique shops around Chautauqua seem to have a mix of nice priced item to high priced. You will find a nice selction of very unique and fun items to look at.

Hi – do you have any recommendations for antique shops in and around Chautauqua, New York. We are coming in a couple of weeks for a long weekend and I’d love to know if there are shops other that “fine antiques” to visit – in other words, shops that may offer a variety of good at a variety of prices, other than “very expensive” – thank you!

There are plenty of activities for children. And as for places to sty, you need to plan ahead. accomodations fill up quickly

I was interested in coming to the Institute the first 2 weeks of August and was wondering if there would be any activities for children. Would there be a rental available in the institute at that time? Thank you.
