Great write up on the history of the Dunkirk Lighthouse. I am happy to see that old structures like this one are been repaired so that the history continues for years to come.

Very interesting article. Isn’t it strange that certain places seem to have an affinity to war?

The mentioned of Dunkirk immediately made me think of Dunkirk in France and the 2nd World War (British & Allied troops on retreat were “rescued” by hundreds of privately owned boats crossing the English Channel just after the start of WW”).

So the 1812 war starting nearby is kind of spooky – I wonder if there is any “deeper” association between the two places.
